built for the fine print
We design around the real edges of healthcare — consent forms, small-print legibility, contrast for older eyes, and marks that survive a clinic printer. Regulatory review stays with your counsel; the design never fights it.
Velari is a two-bench identity studio on Buck Street. We take one wellness or healthcare company onto the bench at a time and draw its whole brand by hand — because the work of caring for people deserves a look that was cared for too.
how velari started
Velari opened in 2019 out of a stubborn frustration: the wellness founders doing the most careful, human work kept launching with the most careless, borrowed brands — a stock mark here, a font grabbed from a slide there, and a color chosen because it was on trend that quarter.
We wanted to make identity the way a good clinic runs — deliberate, documented, and built to hold up long after opening day. So we set two benches, kept the roster small, and refused to run more than one project at a time.
a brand should feel like the room it belongs to: clean, quiet, and trusted before a word is said.
Every mark still starts in graphite, still gets weighed in daylight, and still leaves as a bound field guide your next hire can actually follow. Slow, on purpose.
what we hold to
Not a manifesto — just the habits that keep a Velari identity honest, from the first sketch to the final handoff.
We learn your practice, your patients, and the words they actually use before a single shape is drawn. A mark without a reason is just decoration — and decoration doesn’t earn trust in a waiting room.
Marks are cut in graphite and refined in daylight, never pulled from a library. You see the rough before you see the pixels, and you weigh in at every fork — no reveal-day surprises.
Health copy lives at small sizes, on tired eyes, under bad lighting. We test contrast on a consent form and a clinic printer, not just a portfolio shot — because the fine print is where trust is really kept.
We take a single engagement at a time so your dates are held and your work has our full attention. When it leaves, it leaves finished — bound, labeled, and ready for the next hand.
the people at the bench
Velari is two people and a shared drawing table — the founder who takes the sit-down and holds the strategy, and the designer who cuts the marks and sets the type. No account layers, no handoffs to a junior you never met. The person who hears your story is the person who draws it.
“the same two pairs of hands, from the first sketch to the last file.”
why founders send us their launch
We design around the real edges of healthcare — consent forms, small-print legibility, contrast for older eyes, and marks that survive a clinic printer. Regulatory review stays with your counsel; the design never fights it.
You leave with a bound field guide — the rules, the reasons, and the do-nots — written plainly enough that a founder, a nurse, and a freelancer all read it the same way and keep the brand true.
Engagements run 4 to 16 weeks depending on scope, and your dates are held the day the deposit clears. One project at a time means the schedule we quote is the schedule you get.
